Ryokan Kashima Honkan was built in the 'Taisho period' (1912-1925) based on the special architecture by the shrine carpenters from Kyoto. We call this type of architecture 'Sukiya-Zukuri' which represents the elements of a Japanese tea ceremony 'Sado'.

Our building was registered as 'Tangible Cultural Property' by Japanese government in May of 2007 because of the excellent and traditional Japanese architecture. This is the first time for Fukuoka city. We have our own enclosed Japanese traditional garden and here you can feel real and old Japanese atmosphere.

Located in center of downtown Fukuoka City, you can get to the main attractions easily on foot.
