A baby dolphin born on March 5th this year is now open to the public view! The aquarium is only 10 minutes walk from our inn.

Open from 9:30 am till evening. Last admission is at 5 pm.
1500 yen for adult, and 750 yen for children.

From the day when the sakura has started to bloom in Kanazawa area, Kenrokuen Garden will offer free admission throughout the week.

Also on 7th and 8th of April, 'HARU LA-LA-LA ICHI (spring market)' will be held by Shiinoki Geihinkan, and Kenrokuen will have light-up illuminations in the evening.

An OHANAMI sakura-viewing event will be on by Asano River on 14th of Apil, too.

Takada Park; Japan's Three Great Nght Sakura View
The date for cherry blossom viewing party at Takada Park will be from April 6th to 22nd. The light-up of 4,000 cherry trees are not to miss!

We will have a shuttle bus every day from our ryokan during the season. Leaves the ryokan at 6pm and coming back at 10pm. Tickets are 1,500yen and the booking needs to be made by 4pm on the day you travel. No need to worry about where to park or drinking beers!

Shuni-e (Omizutori / Water Drawing Ceremony) at Todai-ji Temple Nigatsu-do Hall
The ceremony will be held every night up until March 14th. This is a very traditional event for it has been held every year for more than 1260 years. The Doshi kid will be running through the stage with a big taimatsu torch in his hands, the sparks fall on the audience standing below.

We are expecting to have cherry blossom starting to bloom on the day of 12th of April this year at National Treasure Matsumoto Castle. It was on 13th last year, and the sakura was fully in bloom on the 17th.

Matsumoto Castle will have night light-up after the official announcement for the cherry trees in bloom. Free entry to the main garden until 9pm.

Sengokuhara Yudate Shishimai in Kanagawa (Fuji-Hakone Guest House)

Sengokuhara Yudate Shishimai is one of the Intangible Folk Cultural Properties of Japan. Blessing ceremony with hot water throw on the head of worshipers with bamboo grass, which is believed not to have any illness in the coming year. Shishimai is a traditional lion dance from Edo era at Suwa Jinja Shrine. Lots of people will be visiting the shrine for the divine grace.
